Very vintage circa 1920 European heavy pebble weave linen napkin with a monogram H.A., hemstitched border, and squares of hemstitching for decoration at the monogram corner. It measures 21.5 x 21 inches. Excellent condition. Some speckling at one edge as shown, which may soak out after its decades of storage. No real issues. European napkins are the basics of your linen closet or drawers. They are useful for daily family use or entertaining, and of higher quality than what is available new today. European tablecloths are the backbone of your linen collection, large or small. They are a basic for daily family use or for entertaining, to decorate the table when not in use, and they are of higher quality than what is generally available new today. Linen, lace, damask, cotton, embroidery, with and without a monogram, from tea tablecloth size up to over a hundred inches long.
Our linens are purchased directly from estates, and in some cases, antique markets or private homes, and due to the very large volume in which we buy and sell them, we obviously cannot clean and restore them ourselves and still keep them so very affordable. Thus, all these stored-for-decades linens must be assumed to have storage marks, fold-line darkening, etc. Some may look pristine, some will need a good bath. Any damage, or discoloration that we feel may not come out with proper cleaning, will be described. All of these are sold as is, in other words they need washing.
