Winning Summer Combinations

As an alternative to sodium laden sodas, try some syrup and make some refreshing drinks with panache!

Here are some suggestions. Unless otherwise indicated, use about 8 parts liquid to 1 part syrup. Adjust according to taste and desired sweetness level.

La Pléiade

2 parts Anise Syrup

1 part Lemon juice

mix with club soda or mineral water, garnish with lemon or lime slice

Sunny Drink

to 1 part Cherry syrup, add 4 parts pineapple juice and 4 parts Passion Fruit juice (you can substitute any red fruit juice)

Serve over ice, garnish with a cherry

Raspberry Milkshake

3 tablespoons of Raspberry Syrup

1 Teaspoon Honey

7 oz milk

ice to taste (we use a few cubes and add more if needed)

Put it all in the blender and puree till smooth

Garnish with a sprig of mint and a fresh raspberry

Peachy Keen

6 fresh mint leaves,crushed

2 teaspoons brown sugar (light or dark)

1 to 2 tablespoons peach syrup

Add to club soda or sparkling mineral water (about 8 parts to 1 part syrup) and blend

This one can also be served warm, putting the first three ingredients in tea for example

Enjoy!
