Gavottes are a range of fine biscuits (cookies in Europe, Australia etc are called Biscuits), delicate plain or chocolate coated crispy crepe dentelles, perfect for snacking any time of the day.

The authentic Gavotte crepe dentelle is a fine biscuit made following a recipe handed down since 1920. Gavottes are light and golden, composed of super fine crusty layers all rolled up. The absolutely unique manufacturing process is a closely kept secret,and these cookies are exported world-wide. Day 1 of the Open House is almost over as I write. It was fun, hectic and rewarding and we are so pleased so many people came, and liked what our hard-working staff had created. Pictures are not yet ready, but will be soon. Meanwile, here’s part 2 of the give-away:

While our elves are busily decorating, fluffing, primping, unpacking, organizing, setting up and generally transforming the store, we take advantage of a quiet moment to announce the give-away that will be held on Day 1 of the Open House, Friday, November 4, 2011.  You do not have to be present to win but you do have to enter in person (for anyone not close enough to visit, we will be doing a similar give-away in the next few weeks so you will have a chance also).

We love magazines.  Of course we do, especially when one of our items is featured, and in such a lovely way.  Thank you Oprah magazine for using us, and thank you Reisenthel for making such amazing products.

We have just spent a week and a half walking the floors of the Mart in downtown Atlanta…looking, touching, feeling, brainstorming and of course buying. All this in an effort to bring you new, exciting, interesting and inventive items. We have products coming in for you from the smallest trinket to huge, dramatic mirrors  that will be fabulous statement pieces for any room in your home.  These new items should reach us by early fall and barring the furniture,  should  hit the site promptly. If you happen to live in driving distance of our Marietta store you must stop by.  Our gorgeous display of vintage French sheets is our summery backdrop…..but you know once Fall rolls in, things will change dramatically and a new look will emerge. Of course we will close to transform the store for the holidays and welcome you back with our annual open house.

So, yes it has been Christmas in July for us…….and we are looking forward to bringing you an exciting, enlightening and entertaining experience when you shop at Touch of Europe.
