In an innovative way of course! We had a very cool vintage bird cage in the store and while it garnered a lot of interest it was still in residence this fall. So, so we decided………MAKEOVER! We brought the bird cage to a friend of ours who can turn just about any item into a lamp.

And this was our interpretation:

We had the bird cage spray painted in a glossy black and had it wired to hang upside down. With one of our new retro light bulbs in place this ensemble became a useful, innovative, chandelier that all your friends will be gabbing about….Just picture it in an entryway…awesome!

 

As always, time flies, it’s been a while since we did a photo shoot. The next one will be the holiday transformation. But right now we’re loving cool, crisp Fall, warm colors and comfortable temperatures!

We are known for being a dog friendly company and now apparently the birds like us and feel safe in our company.  A few months back we planted a Leland cypress in one of our garden urns to green up the front of the store.  Two weeks ago we noticed a small wren hanging about and then lo and behold we saw she had built a nest in the cypress.  Enjoy the photos of this sweet nest and the three tiny eggs. They are so small!

La Petite France is a wholesale bakery in Marietta, Georgia. They mostly sell to Hotels and high-end restaurants, and are not opened to the public at all. However, given the huge success of our first event with them last December, they will be coming regularly to the store to visit us and bring their goodies directly to the public, at wholesale prices.

Come meet one of the owners, Annie. She will be bringing items for sale, items for you to sample, taste and enjoy and she will also be taking orders for any special items, including perhaps a special dessert?

Come sample her delicious croissants and pains au chocolat, her crusty baguette and her wonderful pound cakes and breads.  And see what seasonal goodies are on sale, for the next 2 weeks, at 50% off.

Store Hours :  Tuesday to Saturday, 10 to 6

Our first holiday Open House was this past Saturday.  The store looked almost perfect, but not yet totally finished.  We’ll get there eventually, it’s such a big space!

The music is by les Petits Chanteurs d’Aix en Provence and is an old childhood favorite….

We have now resumed regular store hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 to 6, and there are new goodies arriving every day!  Nothing photographed can convey the actual store, please come visit!
