Keep Calm and Sparkle
Keep calm and sparkle is a phrase I heard recently and thought it was a great sentiment. If you have spent some time shopping with us at the store I think you will agree it is quite fitting. Glitter and eye candy abounds and you can shop leisurely for hours if you like. If you happened to miss the Open House we are sorry that you did because it was a fun and festive event and included an amazing giveaway. But, fret not, the store is dressed in its holiday splendor and the deliveries just keep on coming. We receive new shipments daily and the store just keeps getting fuller.
If you like ornaments with glitter, we’ve got those, mercury glass, check, vintage, check, whimsical, check, traditional, yep, have those as well.
We really have it all covered this year and as usual our staff loves helping with gift ideas and will always have something yummy for you to eat (we don’t want you to lose your strength while shopping as you may be here a while.)
Looking forward to seeing you!
Keep calm and sparkle – the holidays are upon us!

Tired but inspired
We have just spent a week and a half walking the floors of the Mart in downtown Atlanta…looking, touching, feeling, brainstorming and of course buying. All this in an effort to bring you new, exciting, interesting and inventive items. We have products coming in for you from the smallest trinket to huge, dramatic mirrors that will be fabulous statement pieces for any room in your home. These new items should reach us by early fall and barring the furniture, should hit the site promptly. If you happen to live in driving distance of our Marietta store you must stop by. Our gorgeous display of vintage French sheets is our summery backdrop…..but you know once Fall rolls in, things will change dramatically and a new look will emerge. Of course we will close to transform the store for the holidays and welcome you back with our annual open house.
So, yes it has been Christmas in July for us…….and we are looking forward to bringing you an exciting, enlightening and entertaining experience when you shop at Touch of Europe.
Start dreaming, planning and think of all those great gifts you need/want…..(gifting yourself is always a good thing, too)

A Safe Haven
We are known for being a dog friendly company and now apparently the birds like us and feel safe in our company. A few months back we planted a Leland cypress in one of our garden urns to green up the front of the store. Two weeks ago we noticed a small wren hanging about and then lo and behold we saw she had built a nest in the cypress. Enjoy the photos of this sweet nest and the three tiny eggs. They are so small!
If this gets you in the mood for decorating with bird themed items here are a few:
Cavallini Birds Stickers Assortment in Tin
$14.99
Blue Bird Cavallini Carte Postale tin of 18 postcards
$12.99
Oval Cork Board with Bird & Egg Image
$22.99
16 Inch High Wood and MDF Wall Plaque with Bird Ephemera Image
$19.99

A transformation begins….
We are always looking for unique pieces of furniture for our store. While in Texas we found some fabulous pieces and the germ of an idea was born. Two pieces of furniture arrived from France and had been stripped down to their frames because customs would not allow the pieces to enter the country with their original horsehair. The chaise lounge was built in 1912 and reupholstered in 1952. It will be transformed with the help of some of our vintage sheets and a talented upholsterer.
We also have a chair which will benefit from a bolt of vintage fabric.
And will lovingly care for the four dining chairs below.
Stay tuned as the transformation of these pieces begins. We’ll keep you updated as we move forward with the process which will culminate with the unveiling of the finished pieces.
Next up – see how vintage linens soiled over the years get a new lease on life with the help of a good soak in
