Product Description
Antique French linen European pillow sham with lovely precise white-work embroidery and scalloping flange on all four sides and a beautifully embroidered monogram H.U. at one upper corner. Buttons closed at the back with little mother of pearl buttons. French shams are smaller than their German counterparts and can be easier to find stuffers for – the pillow insert area on this one is 25 inches x 25 inches and the overall measurement including flange is 30 inches x 29 inches. There is a place on the flange where a weave flaw in the linen has gotten thin over the years and if you hold the sham up to the light you can see a couple of pinpoint thin threads which can not be seen in actual use or photographed – just visible if held up to a window to locate. Presents beautifully. Clean and very nicely stored.
